HCM City’s FDI attraction reaches $1.94b in Jan-Aug
From early this year as of August 16, HCM City has granted investment certificates to 207 FDI (foreign direct investment) projects with a total pledged investment capital of $1.74 billion, averaging at $8.4 million per project, according to HCM City Statistics Bureau.
Of which, industry sector was the most attractive in FDI attraction with 30 projects worth nearly $1.1 billion, particularly, the Solar panel manufactory in Cu Chi has an investment capital of $1 billion.
Asa per available information, around 62 existing FDI projects have registered to adjust the investment capital and legal capital with an additional capital of $191.8 million.
Thus, the total newly pledged and raised FDI capital as of August 16 reached nearly $1.94 billion, up 40 percent from the same period last year.
However, due to difficult economy situation and ineffective business activities, 20 FDI projects have been revoked and 12 FDI projects ended operations with a total investment of $7.1 million.
The total number of valid FDI projects in HCM City as of August 16 was 4,073 ones capitalised at $31.6 billion, increasing 308 projects and $2.8 billion from the same period last year.
