HCM City’s H1 GDP growth touches 8.1pct year-on-year

HCM City’s economic growth in June 2012 is estimated to have reached 288.591 trillion dong, growing 8.1 percent over the same period last year, HCM City Statistics Bureau reported.

HCM City’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth in Jan-Jun 2012 is lower than the growth of the same period last year at 9.9%.

In the growth of 8.1%, trade and service segment contributed 5.1%, industry and construction sectors made up 2.95 percent and agro-forestry and fisheries sectors added 0.07 percent to the city’s GDP growth.

Earlier, Hanoi Statistics Office also reported that the capital city’s GDP growth in Jan-Jun 2012 is estimated at 7.6 percent year-on-year.
