Heroin ring to face court

The case of an international drug trafficking ring allegedly led by Tran Xuan Ha and Tran Huy Cong is to go to court in HCM City on December 22 on a charge of smuggling nearly 80 kilograms of heroin.
As well, 32 others will be brought to court on charges of illegal trading narcotics, illegal earnings from drugs and aiding and abetting drug traders by concealing their property.
Prosecutors said the gang closely coordinated with each other to establish many routes of trading and transporting of drug from Cambodia and Laos into HCM City for sale.
From October 2003 to April 2004, the gang transported over 220 cakes of heroin equivalent to 78 kilograms, police said.
