HNX Index slips to below 66pts August 9

Closing the trading session on August 9, the VN Index of Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC) lost 8.71 points or 2.2 percent to 387.7 pts.

The market turnover reached 664.4 billion dong for over 41 million shares being traded, up 45 percent in value from the previous trading session. At the time of closing the trading session, the market saw 22 gainers and 250 losers, including 140 hitting the floor.

Almost key stocks ended at the floor price and nearly floor price such as SSI, SJS, LCG, GMD, HPG and FPT.

Transaction for STB share today reached 8.4 million units, of which foreigners bought 5.4 million STB shares. STB closed falling 100 dong to 16,300 dong per share.

HNX Index ended with a fall for the third consecutive session, losing 1.69 points or 2.51 percent to 65.63 pts.

The market saw 140 shares hitting the floor. This is the first time, the HNX Index slipped to below 66 points.

The total trading volume reached 36.54 million shares valued at 385.8 billion dong, rising nearly 70 percent from the previous trading session. There were 25 gainers, 265 losers with 144 falling to the floor price.

Some share codes closed at nearly the floor price including BVS, KLS, PVX, and VCG.
