HNX: October trading value increases by 8.6pct

According to the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), in October 2017, the total trading volume of the entire market reached over 1.1 billion shares, equivalent to a trading value of 15.947 trillion dong.

On average, the trading volume was 50.4 million shares per session, equivalent to trading value of 724.9 billion dong per session, respectively down by 11 percent and up by 8.6 percent compared to the previous month.

In the first 10 months of the year, the average trading volume reached 54.9 million shares per session, and average trading value reached 604 billion dong per session, respectively up by 13.1 percent and up by 9.7 percent compared to the same period of last year.

In October, foreign investors traded 215.17 million shares, equivalent to a trading value of over 7.576 trillion dong, in which buying value reaching 3.677 trillion dong and selling value reaching over 3.899 trillion dong.

On the Unlisted Public Company Market (UPCoM), the average trading volume in the first 10 months of the year was recorded at 11.1 million shares per session, equivalent to a trading value of 203.2 billion dong per session, respectively up by 2.1 percent and 41.6 percent compared to the same period of 2016.

In October 2017, three auctions were held on the HNX to sell the divested shares of Nam Muc Hydropower Joint Stock Company, Financial Printing Joint Stock Company, and Thai Nguyen Petroleum Joint Stock Company with a total bid of over 11.4 million shares, down by 23 percent compared to September. As a result, 100 percent of the offer volume was sold to investors with total winning value of over 139.4 billion dong, 2.6 billion dong higher compared to the starting price.
