HSBC opens Hanoi branch

Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corp (HSBC) on March 2 officially inaugurated Hanoi branch located at 23, Phan Chu Trinh street, Hoan Kiem district. Reportedly, the first branch of HSBC was established in HCM City.
According to Stephen Green, general director of HSBC, Hanoi branch is designed to serve for financial demand of clients being foreign invested enterprises and domestic companies, marking a new milestone of HSBC’s operations in Vietnam. Accordingly, Hanoi branch will provide such services as company financial and financial institution services, foreign currency services and the capital market, corporate financial services, monetary management, international payment, individual financial service. Hanoi branch is invested an amount of up to US$15 million.
“HSBC will continue to promote a role as the highest capitalised foreign bank in Vietnam with a total investment capital of US$30 million. It is scheduled that HSBC will set up a representative office in Can Tho City,” added Stephen Green.
