Bukit Aman Interpol on Wednesday handed over a Malaysian detained in connection with human trafficking to Singapore police.

The 44 year-old man from Kampung Sungai Melayu, Gelang Patah was detained at Pengkalan Rinting, Tampoi Wednesday morning.

Wilayah Dua Marine Operation Force (MOF) commander ACP Mohd Khamsani Abd Rahman said Singapore police had issued a warrant of arrest on the suspect.

“He is wanted by Singapore police in connection with human trafficking activities from Malaysia to the republic,” he said.

Khamsani said MOF will continue to cooperate with Singapore Police Coast Guard to stem human trafficking and other crimes in both countries.

He urged the public to provide MOF with information on criminal activities by calling 07-2372222 or 07-2376122.
