Hung Yen industrial production rises 29.5%
In the first six months of 2003, the northern province of Hung Yen recorded total industrial production of 2.242 trillion dong, equal to 51.3% of the year’s plan and increasing by 29.5% over the same period last year.
Of which, non-state sector reached the highest growth rate of 37.7% with total production value of 1.129 billion dong. Exports of industrial products of the whole province in the first half of the year reached US$50 million compared with US$80 million of the year’s plan.
In the second half of 2003, the provincial authorities will review and supplement to the provincial master plan for industrial development, master plan for provincial power gridline, master plan for home craft development of local districts and town, attracting FDI projects and large investment projects.
The province expects to attain total industrial production value of 4.547 trillion dong in 2003, an increase of 29% over 2002, to be named in the list of 16 provinces and cities with industrial production value of four trillion dong or more, which will be made by the Ministry of Industry and to reach a GDP growth rate of 12.6% in 2003.
