Industrial output value up 15%
Industrial output in July reached 31.797 trillion dong, raising total industrial output value in the January-July period to 208.135 trillion dong, a 15.2% increase compared with the same period last year. While the growth of foreign-invested sector and the state-owned sector was slower than average growth of the whole country, the private sector grew 21.6%.
Noticeably, after having grown slowly for months, HCM City topped the industrial output of the whole country with a growth rate of 19.4% in July, and 15.5% in the last six months.
Many consumer products and exports increased remarkably compared with the same period last year. For example, crude oil rose 13.6%; televisions of all kinds increased 37.6%; textiles up by 23.1%, garment up by20.1%, assembled motorbikes up by 48.7%. Other potential products such as bicycles, spare parts, and plastic, and so forth also increased.
