Insider wheeling and dealing alleged in Linkton electric metre scandal

Law office Ha Hai, the protector of Linkton Co Vina said that Linkton Co in Singapore has provided many important papers relating to their process of making business with the Electricity Corp in HCM City recently.
One report out of the papers is proposed by Linkton Co to be sent to investigation agency to denounce the corruption. In the report, one man working as official in the HCM City Electricity Corp has a close connection with Linkton since 1997. This man arranged the first contract package for Linkton in 2002 to 2003 about producing 10,000 electric meters.
In 2004, the man told the company that he was a relative of the sales manager in the electricity company and was able of arranging for Linkton to win the next contract of installing over 300,000 electric meters. Finally, Linkton won the contract as negotiated. The man required Linkton Vina to give him money in order to open a restaurant and for other officials in the company before he retired.
The director of Quang Trung Co Ltd, one partner of Linkton Vina Tran Thi Lien sent a petition to the investigation agency saying that her company only contributed part of capital for Linkton with the plot of land in the Cat Lai industrial zone with the investment of US$700,000. If the investigation agency proposed for solving the consequences, Quang Trung Co will use the plot as a mortgage for the bank loan.
According to the criminal investigation department, directors of companies relating to the production of faked electricity meters have been summoned in order to have full files for the lawsuit.
