International arrivals up 15%

Vietnam in March attracted 330,000 international visitors, a year-on-year rise of 15%, bringing the total international arrivals to over one million, up 15% year-on-year, according to Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
The top international arrival in Vietnam is visitors from Russian up 70%, the US up 53%, Australia up 40%, Thailand up 36%, Canada up 35%, Germany 30%, Japan up 29%, Holland up 29%, Malaysia up 23%, England up 16%, France up 15% and others.
However, the number of visitors from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong in the first quarter reached only 70% compared with the same period last year. Given the major cause, on occasion of this, China and Taiwan also held the traditional festival.
Currently, almost all four-five star hotels in Hanoi, HCM City, Nha Trang and others record occupation rates of more than 90%.
Other hotels in Hanoi, HCM City, Nha Trang and others reached occupation rate of 65%.
In a bid to attract more international tourists, the tourism sector is making more efforts to improve the quality of hotel rooms and ensure the food hygiene and safety and security for international visitors.
