In the last week of July, although VN Index decreased by 11.31 points compared to the previous week, international investors continued to be net buyers.
Market liquidity in this week sharply decreased, total trading volume each session (including negotiated transaction) reached 40.8 million stock units, and total average market trading volume each session was 618.1 billion dong
In detail, international investors had a net buying week on Vietnam bourse when they bought over 6.5 million stocks, worth 212.9 billion dong in value and sold out 5.5 million stocks, worth 167.3 billion dong in value, equal to total net buying value of 45.6 billion dong.
On July, 30, 2012 session, international investors continued buying. Notably, shares which they bought much were all big ones.
In this session, international investors had bought 1.497 million shares and sold 1.437 million shares on Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC). Despite a small difference in volume, the difference in value was much bigger. Accordingly, in the first session in this week, they bought over 63 billion dong and sold out 54.8 billion dong and the difference between buying and selling volume was 8.2 billion dong.
July is the month which saw international investors continued net buying with total buying shares of 1.2 trillion dong and 1.172 trillion dong of selling value.
With these moves as in July, the attitudes of foreign investors were reversed compared to that of a month before when they sold more shares.
In June, international investors bought over 100 million shares while they sold very strongly with a total value of up to 132 million shares. In value, June was the month in which international investors discharged much with buying value of 2.46 trillion dong and selling value of 3.113 trillion dong.
According to observers, this action of international investors in July partly showed that stock price in Vietnamese bourse was low enough to attract international investors. From the middle of June, VN Index has decreased from 430 points to around 415 points at this time.
