International nuclear energy chief visits

On December 11 the general director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mohamed Elbaradei, met with the Vietnam Atomic Energy Commission (VAEC) to discuss cooperating more in the near future.
The IAEA will now authorise Vietnam to work on six projects in the fields of industrial applications, atomic analysing technologies, medical applications, and radioactive waste management at a total cost of US$1.5 million over the 2007-2008 period.
