The index lost 0.01 point or 0.03 percent to close at 33.64.The gauge started with the given mark of 100 on June 24, 2009 but it has never been back to that level.
The market volume sharply fell to 48,845 shares changed hands for VND0.34 billion, compared with 2,160,801 shares changed hands for VND104.04 billion on Tuesday.
The market breadth was negative with 13 gainers, 18 losers, 5 unmoved and the rest untraded.
WSB was the biggest gainer today, adding VND1,500 to hit the ceiling at VND16,600 with 100 shares traded.
NBW was the biggest loser today, falling VND1,800 to hit the floor at VND16,600 on a trade of 9,400 units.
NT2 was the most active stock today with 12,000 shares changed hands. Its price gained VND200 to close at VND3,300/unit.
Foreigners bought 9,400 NBW shares today.
