Jetro plans expanded Hanoi airport
A 4.65 trillion dong project to expand the Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport has been submitted jointly by Japan External Trade Organisation (Jetro) and the Ministry of Transport to the government.
Jetro is now reviewing the master planning of the Noi Bai airport feasibility study to build a second terminal called T2 terminal and turning the existing T1 terminal into a domestic passenger terminal only.
It is planned that the T1 terminal, which was finished just a few years ago, will reach capacity of six million passengers a year by 2007. The construction on the new terminal is aimed handling 12 million passengers by 2010 and 20 million in 2020.
The new terminal would comprise four storeys covering 90,000 square metres.
