Joint venture set up to mine, process lead zinc

Nikko Vietnam Joint Stock Co and Bac Kan Mineral Joint Stock Co on July 9 singed cooperation agreement to set up Bac Kan Nikko Vietnam Mineral Joint Venture Co to mine and process lead, zinc.

Bac Kan Nikko Vietnam Mineral Joint Venture Co will operate in fields of exploring, studying, mining and processing minerals and importing and exporting mineral products.

The joint venture will invest in the plant of exploiting and processing lead and zinc with the two phases including 300 billion dong for the first phase and 480 billion dong for the second. The total investment capital is 780 billion dong, in which, Nikko Vietnam contributing 40% and Bac Kan Mineral Co with 60%.

The plant with a yearly estimated capacity in the first phase of 20,000 tonnes of lead and 10,000 tonnes of zinc could bring yearly revenue of over one trillion dong.
