July 17: UPCoM-Index Bucks Trend to Close Down

The UPCoM-Index, the measure of 130 unlisted public companies, bucked trend to close slightly lower despite strong gains seen in official bourses.

The index lost 0.03 point, or 0.08 percent, to end at 36.69. The market volume totalled 661,230 shares valued at VND3.44 billion, compared with 330,000 shares valued at VND2.37 billion from a day earlier.

Among index members, 13 increased in value, 13 tumbled, and 6 closed unmoved, the rest untraded.

ADP was the biggest gainer, climbing 10 percent to finish at VND9,900 on a trade of 100 shares.

In the downswing, SPC was the biggest loser, erasing 9.8 percent to close at VND38,700 on a trade of 100 units.

TGP was the most active on the gauge with 460,200 shares changed hands, which closed down 6.7 percent to VND4,200.

Foreigners net sold 4,900 shares on the bourse today.
