Foreigners continued to sell Vietnamese shares today on the primary bourse, but they were net buyers in the smaller cap exchange, level of participation rose.

These players net sold VND82.61 billion worth of shares on STC after buying 3.84 million shares for VND93.35 billion and selling 8.4 million units for VND140.8 billion, accounting for 6.46 percent buying value and 12.18 percent selling value. These data showed that their level of participation rose in term of volume and value today, but in percentage terms, their activities accounted less ratio of trade.

Today, foreigners’ top buying shares were CTG(VND10.98 billion), EIB(VND7.3 billion), DPM (VND5.5 billion), SJS (VND4.6 billion) and GMD (VND1.7 billion).

Foreigners’ top selling shares were STB(-VND84.4 billion), ITA (-VND9.7 billion), HAG(-VND7.8 billion), HSG(-VND3.5 billion) and VIC(-VND2.9 billion). Financial shares were on top net-selling list.

Of note, if it had not been for STB heavy offload, foreigners would have been net buyers on the bourse today. This showed that real selling pressure from these players is easing.

On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, foreigners net bought VND21.21 billion worth of shares after buying 3 million shares for VND36.58 billion and selling 1.31 million units for VND15.37 billion, accounting for 9.3 percent buying value and 3.91 percent selling value.

They actively bought VCG, PVX, the two shares that are added to ETF’s portfolio. Other top net-bought shares were PVS, DBC and VC1 while they actively offloaded VND, KLS, SDT, DST and SJC shares.
