Korea wants to buy Vietnam rice

Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam Food Association (VFA) together with Korean Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on April 27 organised a seminar on rice export bidding mechanism to Korean market.

According to the information from Korean authorities, Korea wants to import 347,658 tonnes of rice from Vietnam in 2011, including 243,361 tonnes of brown rice and broken rice for processing purpose and the remaining rice for food supply purpose.

Korea expects to start importing Vietnam rice from May and maintain long-term export cooperation.
