Korean firms interested in investment projects in Mekong Delta region

South Korean association of small and medium enterprises coordinated with Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea to hold an investment promotion conference on October 6 in order to call for investment projects in Mekong Delta region, including the provinces of Vinh Long, Tra Vinh and Ben Tre.

There were 90 representatives from South Korean firms participating in the conference.

Delivering a speech at the conference, Pham Tien Van, Vietnamese Ambassador in South Korea stressed that Vietnam has become an attractive destination for foreign investors after 20 year of renovation process.

Up to the end of August 2009, South Korean enterprises have made investment for over 2,200 projects in Vietnam with total registered investment capital of over 22 billion dong.

The leaders from provinces of Tra Vinh, Vinh Long and Ben Tre also introduced about the development potentials in the region in terms of infrastructure, geographic features, economic indexes, and human resources and met with South Korean partners with the purposes of creating favourable conditions for the South Korean investors who would like to make long-term investment. They expressed their hope to welcome the South Korean enterprises to take opportunities and carry out projects in the region in the field of constructing industrial infrastructure, residential quarter and urban areas, investing in industrial production and tourism projects and training high-qualified and skilful human resources.
