Korean traders seek partners
More than 20 Korean traders have met with 120 potential Vietnamese business partners in downtown HCM City to sound out business prospects. The meeting at the Caravelle Hotel on Monday April 11 was arranged by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) of the trade ministry and the Korea Importers Association (Koima).
This was a good chance to boost trade and build links between importers and exporters from the two countries, said Ha Ke Tuan, deputy head of Vietrade.
The Korean traders showed interest in a lot of Vietnamese goods such as construction materials, imitation antique furniture, juice, frozen vegetables, car parts and telecommunications.
In recent years, many Korean trade missions have visited Vietnam.
Two-way trade between the two countries exceeded US$3.1 billion in 2003, and is estimated to rise to US$3.5 billion this year and US$5 billionby2010.
