Lab for testing flu virus recognised by WHO

The World Health Organisation or WHO recognised the Lab for testing flu virus of the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology as the national centre of influenza in Vietnam, said a source from the health ministry. The WHO also admitted the national central of influenza to be a member of the WHO’s global influenza centre.
Some 500 tests of influenza virus have been conducted at the Lab and the shortest time of the tests is recorded in eight hours.
Before, the central institute of hygiene and epidemiology has other labs recognised by the WHO to be standard labs for testing HIV, paralysis, and petechial fever.
