Le Phan gets green light for resort in Quang Nam
Quang Nam Province has agreed in principle to a 100 billion dong project of Le Phan Construction Co, Ltd to build a resort in the ancient town of Hoi An, a provincial official said.
Dinh Hai, director of Quang Nam Service of Tourism, said on April 18 that the provincial government had okayed Le Phan Resort to be developed by the HCM City based company.
The resort, which will cover 4.5 hectares, will comprise luxury private rooms, a hotel, and facilities like a health club, a tennis court and other services for tourists.
Hai said the provincial government had also approved the blueprint of this resort, which should start construction this year.
“The company will likely begin work on Le Phan Resort in the third quarter of this year,” he said, adding the central province still needed more tourism-related projects to cater to the increasing number of visitors to the locality home to many beauty spots including the World Heritage Site of Hoi An.
“We have some 80 operational hotels and resorts, that are not enough to cater to tourists. We want many more investors to invest in the province’s tourism,” said Hai.
Quang Nam has over 160 tourism projects, half of them operational. Last year, the province welcomed over one million visitors, according to Hai.
The province is inviting investors to develop new projects for relaxation and ecological tourism as well as sports areas, parks and travel services. Projects in hotels should be for the high-end market, he said.
“For hotel projects, we only want investors to build three star or higher-grade facilities.”
