In the last quarter of 2011, Vietnam’s stock market had no significant signal and series of securities companies still had to struggle with profit problem.
Majority of securities companies suffered decline in revenue while costs increased highly.
Of the total 20 securities companies releasing fiscal report for the fourth quarter of 2011, as many as 11 securities brokers reported losses.
Taking the leading position was BSI with the loss of 79.5 billion dong. BSI’s revenue in Q4 2011 decreased 35 percent from the same period of 2010, revenue from securities self-trading activities also declined 73 percent and revenue from broker operations also tumbled 44 percent on year.
VND also posted huge loss in Q4 2011 with negative 72 billion dong, bringing the total loss in 2011 to nearly 202 billion dong.
A series of securities brokers posted losses in Q4 2011 such as VDS (over 60 billion dong), APS (56 billion dong), ORS (34 billion dong), APG (33 billion dong), BVS (29.8 billion dong) and PSI (nearly 20 billion dong).
