Malaysia contractor signs MOU for Hai Duong thermo power plant

Ministry of Industry and Trade signed a memorandum with Jaks Resources Group (Malaysia) for the project of Hai Duong thermo power plant, under BOT method.

The two-turbine thermo power plant would have a capacity of 1,200 MW, with total investment capital of about $2 billion located in Kinh Mon district, Hai Duong province.

The construction work would start in October 2010. As planned, the turbine 1 would generate commercial electricity at the beginning of 2014 with annual output of 7.8 billion KWh, supplying electricity for nearby cities and provinces such as Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh.

The ministry committed to cooperate with concerning authorities to support the company quickly finish the contracts for the project like coal-trading, limestone purchasing.
