Manufacturer code registration for apparel exports to US
The Ministry of Trade has issued an official letter to guide garment and textile manufacturers that specialise in producing garment and textile commodities to export to the United States of America to make manufacturer identification code (MID) registration at the Export and Import Management Office under the trade ministry.
Accordingly, if manufacturers that have produced and exported cats of garment and textile commodities subject to the quota management regulation to the US since 2003 obtained MID, but defined not to comply with the principle of the Ministry of Trade, they will have to make MID registration again.
If manufacturers that have produced and exported cats of garment and textile commodities not subject to the quota management regulation, or for the first time to the US, they will have to make MID registration.
Businesses that are not directly producing garment and textiles to export do not need to make MID registration.
The Ministry of Trade requested that all manufacturers do not have MID must soon make MID registration with the export and import management office of provinces or cities in case their goods exported to the US might not be allowed to make customs clearance procedures.
