MBB reaches biggest trading volume as of listing

The VN Index of Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC) today Friday February 24 ended down 0.11% to 423.3 points.

The trading value increased 16% from the previous trading session to reach 1.117 trillion dong for a trading volume of nearly 79 million shares.

In the share group of VN30 index, four shares reached the ceiling price including STB, CII, HPG and PVD. The VN30 Index by the end of the trading session reached 477.77 points, up 0.29%. The trading value reached 507 billion dong, equalling to 45% of the total trading value on the southern bourse.

Of four bank shares in the VN30, CTG, EIB and VCB lost points while STB reached the ceiling price.

Of the group of five key stocks, VIC, MSN and VNM decreased.

MBB reached the biggest trading volume of 7.6 million shares, rising 31% from the previous trading session. This is the biggest volume since MBB’s listing on January 1, 2011. Of which, foreign investors bought 2.7 million units, accounting for 37%. The closing price of MBB reached 14,200 dong per share, rising 35% from its bottom of 10,500 dong each on December 27.

ITA reached 2.9 million shares under the put-through method transactions for over 27 billion dong. In week, ITA increased nearly 18%.

On the northern bourse, the HNX Index exceeded 67 points, up 0.43%. The trading value reached 737 billion dong, rising 18% from the previous trading session.

HBB reached over 14 million shares being traded with almost at the ceiling price of 5,200 dong each. The average trading volume for HBB share in week reached 12 million units, five fold increase from the previous week.

By the end of the trading session, the sale power increased and many shares lost the ceiling price such as BVS, SCR, SHN, SHS while PVA, PVX, VND slipped to the reference price and ACB and KLS dropped 100 dong.
