More Vietnamese enterprises qualified for seafood export
National Fisheries Quality Assurance and Veterinary Department (Nafiqad) has informed that there were additional enterprises that have been provided approval for exporting seafood to the markets of European Union (EU), Russia, Japan, South Korea and China.
In details, Japan announced that Kim Anh Co Ltd is posted into exemption list for checking for forbidden chemicals and antibiotics on exporting batch of crustacean group and finished products to be processed belonging to this group.
However, also for seafood export to Japanese markets, Naficad listed other three enterprises that were included in the list of firms to be compulsorily checked for forbidden chemicals and antibiotics namely Cholimex Food JSC, Hai Nam Co Ltd and Ut Xi Seafood Processing JSC (UTXICO).
As for markets of South Korea and China, Nafiqad has added more four firms in this list of qualified export enterprises such as Viet Hai Seafood Import-Export Co Ltd (Vihaco), Phuong Anh Seafood Processing and Exporting JSC, Sao Bien Seafood JSC (Sacoimex) and Viet Thai Production and Trading Private Co.
According to Nafiqad’s statistics, there are 300 enterprises in the country that have been qualified to export seafood to EU, over 440 enterprises of South Korea and China, 30 enterprises of Russia, 60 enterprises of Brazil and about 450 enterprises of Japan
Vietnamese seafood has been exported to hundreds of markets all over the world. The effects of global economic recession on seafood export have reduced significantly.
The seafood export turnover has tended to gradually recover, reaching about $2.2 billion in the first seven months of this year, down 9% year on year. The leading position of sales market for Vietnamese seafood is the EU, followed by Japan.
