National Assembly scheduled
The National Assembly Standing Committee on April 27 discussed the specific preparation of the upcoming fifth session of the 11th National Assembly, scheduled to open May 11 until June 17. According to plans, prime minister Phan Van Khai will report to the NA some changes of government personnel on May 21, and the NA will deliberate on this report at the end of the session.
Party members will also be appraised of the results of the People’s Councils elections held on April 25 and hear reports on the demonstrations by ethnic minority people in the Central Highlands and spend time discussing price hikes, traffic accidents, and the fight against corruption, waste in state spending, smuggling, and trade fraud.
The legislative body will later give opinions to two resolutions on new legislation and six draft laws.
