New cement plant in Quang Ninh

Thang Long Cement Joint Stock Co has started to build the Thang Long Concrete Plant project in the province of Quang Ninh.

The 5.198 trillion dong project invested by General Import Export Hanoi Co, Ltd (Geleximco), Vietnam Insurance Corp and the Vietnam Machinery Installation Corporation (Lilama) includes a cement plant with a designed capacity of 6,000 tonnes of clinker a day (equivalent to 2.3 million tonnes PC40 cement a year), a stone crushing station with yearly capacity of 1.3 million tonnes and a thermal power plant of 50MW, which will supply electricity to the cement plant.

The plants are planned to come into operation in the year 2005.
