New company start-ups pass 100,000
Since the new Enterprise Law came into force four years ago, 106,134 companies have registered for establishment with total registered capital of 181.506 trillion dong the Ministry of Planning and Investment reported.
The total number of companies (excluding foreign invested) nationwide is 152,000 with registered capital totalling 320 trillion dong.
In August 2004 alone, the country has seen 23,392 new businesses registered for establishment with total registered capital of dong 41.528 trillion, posing a y-o-y rise by 36.3% in terms of numbers and 29.6% in capital.
Tax payments by the private sector has increased year by year: in 2002, up by 14.9% against 2001 and in 2003, up by 17.34% against 2002.
