Vietnam's coffee exports in December are likely to have fallen 23% on year in terms of volume but increased 18% in terms of value, according to estimates issued Friday by the General Statistical Office.
The GSO said April coffee exports are expected to total 100,000 metric tonnes, or 1.667 million 60-kilogram bags, valued at US$223 million.

In April 2007, Vietnam exported 130,000 tonnes valued at US$189 million.

The GSO revised the country's March coffee exports downwards to 97,000 tonnes, or 1.662 million bags, compared with previous estimates of 150,000 metric tonnes, or 2.5 million bags.

So far this crop year, which started in October, VietNam has exported 666,000 tonnes, or 11.1 million 60-kilogram bags, down 25.2% on year.
