May rice exports tipped at 400,000t

Vietnam Food Association reported that exporters shipped 550,235 tonnes of rice earning over US$266.836 million in April with the average price of US$485 a tonne.
Therefore, during the first four months of 2008, 1,379,128 tonnes of kinds of rice were exported, bringing in US$593,076,286. As planned, Vietnamese businesses target to export 400,000-430,000 tonnes of rice this month.
