Cashew export price falls
22-JUL-2008 Intellasia | Tuoi Tre
Jul 22, 2008 - 7:00:00 AM

The competitive strength of Vietnam processed cashew now stands at the lowest level during the last two-years due to the impacts of slow delivery by the year early.
Currently, most customers only sign short-term contracts with Vietnamese cashew processors and shift longer term ones to Indian firms. Vietnam's cashew export price fell by 3-5 US cents a pound against India's price.

However, the country's cashew export kept leading the world with 40% of the global sales. Since the start of this year, Vietnam has exported 70,000 tonnes of cashew nut earning US$375 million, growing by 40% year-on-year.
