Tea export earns $50m

The country earned $50 million from tea exports during the first six months of this year, up over 17 percent in output and 13 percent in value year-on-year, Nguyen Kim Phong-chair of Vietnam Tea Association reported June 23.

Vietnam now exports tea at $1,248 per tonne, $10 per tonne lower from the same period of 2008.

The sector targets to export 117,000 tonnes for $167 million in the whole year.
