Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has reported that the country's seafood exports in H1 brought in total of $1.7 billion, down 11 percent year-on-year.
Among Vietnam's seafood importers, EU led with the market share of over 26 percent, followed by Japan.
The difficulties in producing and consuming seafood products are expected to continue in last months of this year so the seafood export in the whole year could slump 15-20 percent against 2008 to $4.5 billion.
