Vietnam may become top rubber exporter

As forecasted, Vietnam could export total one million tonnes of rubber latex by 2020 and become one of top rubber exporters in the world.

Le Quang Thung, general director of Vietnam Rubber Group said that the group targets to increase the rubber plantation in foreign countries, namely Cambodia, Laos, Burma and Africa to total 100,000 hectares by 2012.

This year the group needs 10 trillion dong for business operations, of which a part will be used to expand new rubber area and the remainder will be invested in wood processing factories, hydropower plants and industrial zones.
