Vietnam Laos Rubber Joint Stock Co held the groundbreaking ceremony of a rubber processing plant yesterday March 10 in Pakse dist, Champasak province, Laos. The new plant has designed capacity of 15,000 tonnes per year.
The 68 billion-dong rubber processing plant would be the first plant in southern Laos, to be equipped with modern, synchronous machines and equipment for producing high-quality products.
The plant was supposed to be put into operation after seven months of construction.
Vietnam Laos Rubber Joint Stock Co was established in late 2004. It is expected that the company will start producing latex from an area of 1,200 hectares of rubber trees with estimated production output of 10 tonnes per hectare in 2010.
