Vietnam's seafood export in 2010 is showing satisfactory signs with an export turnover of $628 million during the first two months this year, up over 41 percent against the same period last year.

At present, the country exported 85 types of seafood products to 163 markets all over the world.

As predicted earlier, the country's export turnover this year may exceed last year's figure.

In Jan-Feb, Con Dao Seaproducts and Import Export Joint-Stock Co (Coimex) exported 2,000 tonnes of seafood products, earning $4.2 million of export turnover. In January alone, the company sold 100 tonnes of frozen seafood products to markets of Japan and Korea. As expected, this year, the company will earn an export turnover of $40 million.

Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters & Producers (Vasep) forecasted that in 2010, the country's seafood export turnover will surpass the figure of $4.5 billion.
