Budget Rent A Car enters Vietnam

Budget Rent A Car, one of the world's best-known car rental companies, rolled into the Vietnamese market on Monday, initially focusing on hotels in HCM City and Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Dan Cohen, Budget Vietnam's general manager, says in a statement that the company is confident there is substantial demand for high quality car rental in the country.

"Google receives the key phrase 'car rental Vietnam' at least 250 times per day," he said. "Not only does Budget fill that glaring need, but it does so in a comforting fashion. Everyone who's been overseas knows the name, Budget, and what it represents," he says.

Cohen says Budget's move into Vietnam represents more than just another country to place its worldwide footprint. "It's a major cross-cultural leap, as few foreigners drive on Vietnam's frenetic highways and byways," he says.

Budget Vietnam focuses on delivering services to four key markets: high-end leisure travellers, inbound corporate travellers, corporate fleet solutions, and golf and resort transfers.

At www.budget.com.vn, customers can choose from a wide fleet of vehicles, including Toyota Camrys and Innovas, Ford Everests and Escapes and Mercedes-Benz sedans and vans.

Cars are priced from US$69 to 249 per day and come equipped with amenities such as mobile phone, international newspapers and magazines, chilled water and towels and 24-hour customer-service support.

According to Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), travellers to Vietnam surpassed three million in the first eight months of 2008 and will increase more in the future, so this is part of the reason of the appearance of Budget in Vietnam.

Budget, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, has more than 1,900 vehicle hire locations in the US, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand and parts of the Pacific region.
