Japanese steel marker presents US$5b investment plan in central

Japan-based JFE Steel Group is seeking approval from the People Committee of the central province of Quang Ngai to spend some US$5 billion to build a steel complex on an area of 1,000 hectares in expanded Dung Quat Economic Zone with the total estimated capacity of from 6-10 million tonnes of raw steel a year.

The mill will operate with advanced manufacturing technology, which is expected to employ 2,000-3,000 locals.
