Bosch announces business strategy in Vietnam
07-OCT-2008 Intellasia | Vietnamnet

The power tool manufacturer Bosch announced on October 3 that it will set up an official distribution network in Vietnam to sell hand power tools and provide solutions in the construction sector throughout the country.

Bosch vice-President in charge of business in the Asia Pacific region, Klaus Thunig, said Bosch will seek 150 distributors throughout Vietnam in order to establish a network of sales agents and customer care centres, along with establishing a training centre to instruct in the use of Bosch products.

He also said he hoped that direct sales of products in Vietnam will help Bosch to make an early decision on the construction of a power tool plant in Vietnam.

The company had earlier made a decisive move, having transformed its representative office in Vietnam into a wholly foreign-owned company.

In September of this year, the construction of its 55 million-euro auto component plant began at the Long Thanh Industrial Zone in southern Dong Nai Province.

Currently, Bosch has three areas of operations in Vietnam, namely automotive and industrial technology, consumer goods and building technology.
