Singapore-based Shangri-La Healthcare Investment Pte. Ltd and its local partner on Thursday started construction of a US$400 million healthcare complex in southern Vietnam, state media reported Friday.
Covering 37.5 hectares in HCM City, Hoa Lam Shangri-La complex will include hospitals, a research centre, a medical training centre, a shopping centre and a residential area, said the Ministry of Planning and Investment in its newspaper Dau Tu.
Construction of the complex-the largest of its kind in Vietnam-is scheduled to finish in 10 years, the newspaper said.
Shangri-La Healthcare Investment holds a 70% stake in the joint venture, while Vietnam's Hoa Lam Co owns the rest.
