| Cambodia plans to open a national joint venture airlines with Vietnam |

Cambodian Civil Aviation Authority has announced its plan to officially open and put into operation the new national joint venture airlines between Cambodia and Vietnam called "Cambodia Angkor Airline" (CAA) and hold an opening ceremony of Preah Sihanouk International Airport on July 27.
Mao Havannal, the Secretary of State of Cambodian Civil Aviation Authority said that there would be two ATR-72 flights to provinces of Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk on the opening date of CAA. He stated that the new airline would use the light aircrafts to serve for domestic and international flights.
The Cambodian travelling enterprises highly appreciated the upcoming event as a promising opportunity to develop the country's tourism industry that has been gloomy recently due to bad effects from the world economic recession.
Ho Vandy, Chair of Cambodian Tourism Association stated that the establishment of Cambodia Angkor Airline (CAA) would not only bring in benefits but also long-term economic prospects. He hoped that the appearance of a new national airline would attract a large number of tourists to visit Angkor Temple Complex.
The new airline planned to purchase the airplanes of Airbus 320 and 321 at the end of this year, according to the signed cooperation agreement between Cambodian and Vietnamese government. At the beginning of 2010, the airline expects to expand the new routes to other countries, including South Korea.
Mao Havannal also revealed that many representatives from large airlines in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Laos would participate in the opening ceremony to search for cooperation opportunities and Cambodia's tourism potentials.
