The construction on a new waste treatment plant was officially started in Tan Dong Commune, Thanh Hoa Dist, Long An province on February 5, 2010. The 300 billion-dong plant, which is coming up on an area of 37 hectares, is expected to be operational by June 2011.

The HCM City-based Tam Sinh Nghia Investment and Development Joint Stock Co is the main investor for this project. Nguyen Thanh Nguyen, vice chair of Long An province people's committee said after 10 years of searching for partners, the local authority has approved for Tam Sinh Nghia Co to build the waste treatment plant.

Thanh Hoa waste treatment plant would be equipped with domestic production lines with lower costs than those imported from Europe. It's the eighth large-scale waste treatment plant to be designed and built by Tam Sinh Nghia Co so far.
