Ministry of construction predicted that the country's demands for cement increased by 11 percent year-on-year to about 50-51.5 million tonnes.

In 2009, the total cement production and sales was posted at 45.5 million tonnes, up 11.4 percent against the previous year.
It's estimated that the total production output in January 2010 will reach 4.26 million tonnes of cement, equal to 8.5 percent against the year plan.

The ministry predicted that cement demand in 2010 would be about 50-51.5 million tonnes. The ministry has already set up and proposed the production plan for member companies in 2010. In details, Vietnam Cement Industry Co plans to produce about 18-18.5 million tonnes, joint ventures of 15-15.5 million tonnes, and other local cement plants of 17-17.5 million tonnes.
