Italian enterprises focus on investment projects in Vietnam

During the recent meeting with Italian enterprises in HCM City, Tomaso Andreatta, chair of Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam said Italy would like to concentrate on developing trade relations with Vietnamese partner.

The Italian enterprises have invested about $200 million in Vietnam, up to now. In 2009, these enterprises reported to make investment of $100 million, in which Piaggio Co invested $50 million to open its Piaggio motorbike factory in Vietnam and Carvico Co of $30 million for producing elastic fabric.

At present, the Italian firm of Danieli has lately prepared for procedures to invest in $500 million hot-scrolled steel mill project in Vietnam.

In addition, there are many other Italian firms that would invest in projects in coffee and food processing industry.
