1.3m international tourists arrive in Vietnam in Q1

During the first quarter of this year, the number of international tourists visiting Vietnam raised 15.7% against the same period of last year, according to Nguyen Quoc Ky, temporary chief of general Department of Tourism.

Out of 1.285 million foreigners arriving in Vietnam in January-March, the number of merchants increased 58.2% to 237,706 arrivals.

There were eight foreign projects investing in Vietnam's tourism sector with the total pledged investment capital of US$1.621 billion mainly in central Vietnam.

General Department of Tourism forecasted that to the end of this year, the number of international visitors to Vietnam would keep increasing, especially tourists from Asean countries.
