Vietnam Jan-April industrial output slow at 16.4%

Vietnam said on Friday its industrial output in the first four months of this year would slow to 16.4%, to 215.54 trillion dong, from the same period of 2007.
The government's General Statistical Office gave no reason for the slower growth but said growth in the four-month period was driven by a 119% jump in car output, a 109.5% rise of bus production and also growth of up to 45.5% in household electronics appliance production.
