1.7m international tourists arrive in Vietnam in Jan-Apr

There were some 1.7 million international tourists arriving in Vietnam during the first four months of the year, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%, reported General Department of Tourism.

Of which, there were one million tourist arrivals to Vietnam for relaxing and tourism, up 12.3% yoy, 315,600 arrivals for business, rising 59.6% and 263,000 arrivals to Vietnam for visiting their relatives, up 12% yoy and 103,400 visitors arriving in Vietnam for other purposes, down 17.8% yoy.

291,900 visitor arrivals come from China, up 63.9% yoy, 165,500 people from US, a year-on-year increase of 6.4%, 111,300 Taiwanese arrivals, rising 10% yoy, 4,600 tourists from Finland, increasing 43.7%, Hong Kong with 2,200 people, up 33.3% and Philippines with 13,500 visitors, increasing 24.8% yoy.
